Tomatoes
So many tomatoes and so little
garden space. It's a classic challenge to try
to figure out how to grow just one more
tomato plant! I like to think of tomatoes in
categories: Early, Cherry-types, Sauce,
Salad, Mid season and Late season/Heirlooms.
I encourage customers to be the first on their block to have a red tomato by the
Fourth of July with an Early type variety; then to pad out the rest of the
season with a decent Mid-season slicer and finish with a whopper of an heirloom. At the
greenhouse the tomatoes are displayed with an information sign to help you learn more about them.
The following list notes the heirloom
varieties with an *.
